Do you spend a lot of time listening to people? Perhaps it's even your job as a coach, therapist, counsellor, social worker, or HR manager...
How we meet another can result in deep healing and inner transformation. It can also be the source of pain for the other as well as despair and fatigue for me. What is the difference between empathic listening, compassionate listening and sympathetic listening? With which kind of intention am I listening? What can I do when I realise that I am somewhere other than fully open and compassionate?
How do I bring myself back to this state when I realise that I am listening with an agenda?
